Black & White Ceramic Couple
I no longer remember exactly where or when I found these two ceramic vases in Japan. What remained was the certainty that they belonged together. One is white and rectilinear; the other black and softly rounded. Their differences are precisely what gives them equilibrium. Throughout my life I have instinctively paired objects, arranging them into silent relationships that transform my home into a landscape of conversations. Looking back, I realize this habit says less about decoration than about desire. Long before I found stability in my own relationships, I was already imagining it through objects. These two small vessels became an early allegory for love: two independent forms standing side by side, distinct without ever competing, quietly completing one another.
