I found this small yellow glass vase by Takeshi Tsujino during the final days of a summer spent between Tokyo and Naoshima in 2025. Hidden on the second floor of MIN Gallery in Tokyo's Meguro district, the gallery presented a selection of unique glass works in different colours, each carrying its own rhythm, density, and atmosphere. Although every piece felt singular, I was immediately drawn to the yellow vase resting quietly at the centre of the display. It was not a rational choice, but an intuitive one.

That summer marked a different relationship with Japan. After years of returning to Tokyo, the city no longer felt unfamiliar but deeply familiar—a place where I could move effortlessly, make new friends, discover hidden galleries, and spend entire days wandering without an itinerary. The exceptional heat often led me to cross the city by taxi rather than by metro, allowing Tokyo to reveal itself slowly through the window. Finding this vase during those final days felt like the perfect conclusion to that season. Bringing it back to Paris was my way of preserving the moment Tokyo ceased to be a destination and became a second home.
