Japanese Transparent Glass Vase
This tiny hand-blown glass vase is one of the most fragile objects I own. Its pale green tint, irregular surface, and suspended air bubbles preserve the memory of the breath that first shaped it. I have always been fascinated by objects that reveal the presence of the hand that made them, carrying within them the traces of gesture, time, and imperfection. Small enough to disappear in the palm of a hand, it asks almost nothing of the world. Even empty, it possesses a quiet dignity. It reminds me that beauty does not need to occupy space loudly. Sometimes it exists simply through care, restraint, and attention.
