Shell & Pineapple Vase
These two small objects entered my life through entirely different stories yet somehow belong together. The iridescent shell, with its delicate mother-of-pearl surface, fascinated me for its extraordinary architecture, patiently shaped by nature over time. Beside it stands a tiny pineapple-shaped ceramic vase handmade by the mother of one of my closest friends in Paris. She is German, recently widowed, and after many years living in São Paulo speaks Portuguese with remarkable fluency. Through her son, our lives became unexpectedly intertwined.
Together they form a quiet conversation between nature and craftsmanship. One was sculpted by the sea, the other by a mother's hands. They remind me that the most meaningful objects often arrive through affection rather than intention, carrying with them traces of the people who placed them in our lives.
