Cravan Wine Glass
This wine glass was originally part of a pair until its companion was accidentally broken by the boyfriend of a dear friend. I never searched for a replacement. Instead, I accepted its new condition, allowing the surviving glass to continue its life alone.
Unlike the crystal glasses I use every day, this one gradually moved away from routine. Its elegance asks for slowness rather than repetition, and I now reserve it for rare occasions. There is something quietly moving about objects that continue to exist after losing their other half. They no longer speak about completeness but about endurance. In its solitude, this glass has acquired a presence that a perfect pair never could.
